Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturers can communicate directly with their counterparts in countries around the globe by participating in JOTI, an annual event sponsored by the World Organization of the Scouting Movement.

 

There are two sites to visit:

 

www.joti.org -- Provides a list of the necessary software, rules for participating, and information on creating a temporary e-mail address.

 

www.scoutlink.net -- Provides a safe and supervised chatting environment.

 

Wallet-size participation certificates and temporary patches are available. The cards are free, but patches are $4 each. Send order letter and check or money order to the International Division, S221, 1325 West Walnut Hille Lane, P.O. Box 152079, Irving, Texas, 75015-2079

6 p.m. We need help on these two days; if you are available, it will be greatly appreciated.  We welcome Boy Scouts for help.  The Popcorn Distribution location is Variety Wholesalers- 3401 Gresham Lake Road, Raleigh.

Scout Saturday - Park Staff led activity for 1 hour during the day.  Contact Blue Jay point for a reservation and scheduled activity for your group.

Distribution begins for 2005 Take-Order portion of the program.  All popcorn should have been picked up from the Distribution point on Thursday or Friday 11/17-11/18

The 2005-2006 FOS Trailblazer Training will be held at the Scout Office.

Occoneechee Lodge's Winter Banguet will be held this year at Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh, NC.  The fully catered Italian meal will be provided for $13/seat.  Details to follow.

There will be no OA Chapter meeting this month.

Anyone interested in assisting with the PWD is invited to come.

On March 2, 2006 at the North Raleigh Hilton the Council held the Annual Friends of Scouting Breakfast at 7:00AM.  Tables are $5,000 and a seat is $750.  The Key Note speaker is former UCLA great and NBA legend Bill Walton.

A fun filled day, learning about the Order of the Arrow program, indian lore and dancing.

What is a Conclave? It is the most fun crammed into one weekend that you can ever imagine! Our Conclave typically has between 800 to 1,000 Delegates from the 6 lodges that make up our Section. There is tons of fellowship & competition at this event such as: Campfires, Crackerbarrels, Patch trading, a Patch Auction, Ceremony Competitions, Indian Dance Competitions, The Quest, Training, and great food! This is one OA Event you do not want to miss.
