District Scouters,

At the recent Report to the Governor, North Carolina Scouting committed to 100,000 hours of Service in our 100th year.  There is no doubt that this is a realistic and certainly attainable goal.  We know you are out there in the community doing lots of good things.  We simply need to let everyone else know.  If you will, please assign someone in your unit to take charge of reporting your units service hours.  Simply go to the service hours reporting webpage at  http://www.ncbsaservicehours.com/.  It only takes a moment to let the whole state know your unit is supporting the 100,000 hour effort.  Currently, Occoneechee Council leads the State in reporting.  Please take a moment to stretch our lead.

In Scouting,

National Youth Leadership Training

The staff for this year's NYLT has been working hard to prepare for this years course but we need your help.
As of today the registration is only 6 participants and the deadline for registration is approaching fast.
Please help me spread the work about NYLT by sending an email to your training team and to the Scoutmasters in your districts to try to recruit participants.
Attached is the application form and information about the course.
Registration deadline for canceling the course is June 4th.  Please spread the word.
Please don't hesitate to call or contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Kathy Connelly

If you did not receive the collectable coins you ordered from the Spring Camporee, those are now available for pick up at the Scout office.   They will also be available at the June 3rd Awards Dinner at Crossroads Fellowship Church.

If you would like to purchase one of these coins, you may do so by contacting either Kevin Blackwood or Greg Sanders.  Coins are only $5.00 and depict the theme of the 2010 Camporee, through a representation of our past and future in Scouting.
